Festive Snacks & Goodies: 3 Easy Homemade Trail Mix Recipes

These energy-boosting trail mix ideas are so quick and easy to pull together and great for after-school snacks, party favors, and events on the go!

These trail mixes are suitable for older toddlers upwards. Ensure the nuts/seeds are chopped into small pieces. You can use a blender to break them down. 

Chocolate & Fruit & Nut Trail Mix

  • 1 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
  • 1 cup chopped almonds
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts/pecans 
  • ½ cup mixed seeds (pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds)
  • 1 cup raisins 
  • ¾ cup dark chocolate chips

Add all the ingredients into a large bowl or container and mix. 

You can store the trail mix in an airtight container at room temperature. 

Fruity Trail Mix

  • 1/2 tbsp butter or coconut oil 
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp maple syrup 
  • 1 cup chopped pecans 
  • 1 cup Cheerios
  • 1/2 cup freeze-dried apple slices 

Steps:

  1. Preheat oven to 325F/160C and line a tray with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine the butter, cinnamon, maple syrup, and chopped pecans. 
  3. Spread onto the baking tray and roast for 10 minutes.
  4. Allow to cool completely.
  5. When cool, add to a bowl with the freeze-dried apple and Cheerios. 

You can store the trail mix in an airtight container at room temperature. 

Cinnamon Crunch Trail Mix

  • 1/2 cup banana chips
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries 
  • 1/2 freeze-dried berries 
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin seeds 
  • 1/2 cup coconut flakes 

Add all the ingredients into a large bowl or container and mix. 

You can store the trail mix in an airtight container at room temperature.
